SUMMER 2025

This summer's been one of reflection, professional development, and learning. I didn't find a co-op job, but I've been busy nontheless :P
In Summer 2025 I:

• Taught myself frontend and backend web development (HTML, CSS, Javascript, C)
• Made an electronic portfolio website, which I registered, and host myself
• Created a comprehensive course registration assistant tool (Odin, SDL3)
• Explored GPU programming and architecture for future use in videogame development (Odin, SDL3, Vulkan, GLSL)
• Found work as a shop hand at Meg's Pottering
• Played 2 live shows with my band <3
• Indulged my arts and hobbies
• Had a good snooze ;)

Of course we still have a bit of Summer 2025 to go.. I'm currently getting a head-start on co-op applications for my upcoming 16 month work term--which starts in May 2026. Aside from that, I am writing a unique software audio synthesis engine which allows the user to draw the waveform they'd like to play in real-time, and I'm embarking on my first electronic hardware project: designing and building a guitar effect pedal. Stay tuned over the coming weeks for updates on those projects!

MULTI-IFR RATING

Began Multi-IFR training with The Ottawa Flying Club. Studied multi-engine operations and practiced in a simulated environment; instrument operating procedures; multitasking; and resource-management under pressure. Training postponed due training aircraft availability.

Began 1st year Aerospace Engineering: Electronics and Systems at Carleton University. Achieved 2nd-year status on 2024/04/27 with the following result:

NIGHT RATING

Began Night Rating training with The Ottawa Flying Club. Studied night operations, illusions, and the use of flight-instruments.

Achieved Night Rating on 2023/10/25.

FARM BOY

Hired at the Farm Boy Meat Department as a Customer Service Representative (CSR). Tended to customer needs; stocked department; maintained cleanliness and performed janitorial duties; managed and measured inventory; collaborated with department managers and led closing teams.

Resigned in 2023/09/01 to begin B.Eng studies at Carleton.

PRIVATE PILOT'S LICENSE (PPL)

Began Private Pilot's License (PPL) training with The Ottawa Flying Club. Studied airmanship, theory of flight, communication, resource-management, planning, meterology, and law.

Achieved PPL license on 2022/09/16 with near-perfect checkride result.

AIR CADET PROGRAM

Joined air cadet program. Rose through ranks on the expedited program as a late-joiner. Taught classes on theory of flight and meteorology to junior cadets. Led cadet flights during field training exercises (FTX), helping run activities and ensure safety.

Aged out on 2023/06/03.
